Amazon Kindle

Amazon Kindle Packaging

My mom recently purchased the Amazon Kindle. I was a little too late to save the box it came in (which was fairly nice), but fortunately my sister decided to buy her a case, and it came in the same packaging.

Sticking to their traditional brown box, the Amazon Kindle was packaged in the same material with a tear strip to reveal its contents. Upon opening, the box is lined in black matte and then spot glossed with a variety of letters of all sorts of typefaces to form a whimsical design reflecting the words coming from the device.

On the bottom left is the product defined:

kindle (kin’dəl) v.t. 1. set on fire. 2. inspire, stir up. -v.i. 1.catch fire. 2. become animated.

True to its definition, the Kindle itself has taken the idea of the book by storm.

The overall delivery of the product is wonderful. It is sleek, fun, and environmentally responsible and I must commend Amazon on doing it so well! Now if anyone can point me in the direction of the Sony Reader or Barnes & Noble Nook packaging, I’d love to see it!

Amazon Kindle Barcode

Oh, and of course I couldn’t forget this! I recently saw The Dieline’s post on unique Japanese barcodes and was pleasantly surprised to see this on the back of the box. Classic.
